1st HAICTA's CONFERENCE
6-7 June 2002
HAICTA will have its 1st
Pan-Hellenic with international participation, 2days Conference (6-7 June
2002), in Athens. The conference is an effort of HAICTA to bring together
Agriculture and ICT professionals. This conference offers an opportunity
to exchange ideas, opinions and experiences in applications and developments
in the use of ICT in Agriculture, Food and Environment.
The conference will have sessions in English. Contributions from various countries will allow a broadened perspective for all attending. The conference will be held in the Agricultural University of Athens.

Agricultural University of Athens
Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) is the third oldest University of Greece and the first devoted to Agriculture. AUA has more than 200 teaching and research staff, and about 2000 students. AUA is located near Ceramicos and along Iera Odos, the oldest sacred road of Europe which was inseparably linked to the ancient Greek traditions of agriculture. Iera Odos was the route along which the ritual procession to worship Demetra, the goddess of agriculture.
The Agricultural University of Athens is dedicated to training specialists and to conduct research in order to create and transfer technical knowledge to the fields plant and animal production, the processing of agricultural products and to biotechnology.
The Agricultural University of Athens has developed international activities, thus establishing scientific cooperation with: International organizations and countries from almost all over the world. The University is always open to new initiatives and ready to collaborate in joint aducational and research ventures, both at national and international level.
